AMERICAN BEEKEEPER explores themes of contemporary American culture through the lens of bees and beekeepers across the United States. This in-depth investigation into beekeeping reveals hidden truths about America and our collective relationship to the land. By gathering stories from beekeepers, we ventured to the edges of towns, cities, and rural communities where people keep bees in Alabama, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia. From these explorations, a fascinating picture emerges of America’s present, past, and future. The AMERICAN BEEKEEPER exhibit debuts for six weeks this fall at the Making Space Gallery in Baltimore. The exhibit showcases new works by Andy Cook and Michelle Geiss, including photography, sculpture, and print. EXHIBIT & EVENTS: NOV 6 TO DEC 12, 2026
